Cell Phone or Selfish for Phone: The Recent Studies Show Shocking Behavioral Patterns

Perplexed with the title? Well, there is nothing to be. A recent research conducted by the University of Maryland shows that people who use cell phone more, become even more selfish or self-centered, to be precise. The study and surveys completed within the research period showed that people, mostly the ones who grew up during the era of cell phones, who are mostly in their 20s now, are less likely to communicate socially, like the previous generations. Too much for staying connected with a cell phone, as the slogan for creating it at the first place, right?

Selfish with Cell Phones: The Symptoms People Show
During the study, the researchers found that, the people who use cell phone for almost every purpose of their lives are more likely to be inert if asked to participate in tasks with social or moral welfare. Since the people on who the research was focused were in their 20s, particularly, they are most often in a position to discuss about the broader issues, like world crises, and many such things, but sadly enough, most of the frequent cell phone users do not seriously bother about those. All most of them care about is sharing the “cool” and “happening” things, which may include the important issues as well, but they only “like”, “share” or “support” the things, and move on as if those were a passing trend! These are attitudes that many might find problematic to call any “symptom” towards selfish behavior, but it actually is the same!

The Ways to Avert Social Breakdown
If the scene keeps rolling like that, there will soon be no social gatherings and customs at all, we will all be glued to some high resolution screens and keep tapping to be engaged. If we even imagine that scene, it should give us chills of horrible loneliness. This is not a situation we can ever want. The good news is there are still people who care, for real. If the overuse and over dependence to gadgets and phones are reduced in the pre-teens and teen years, there is a possibility to change the upraise of selfishness. Parents can use phone tracking software, like mSpy, to know what their children are doing and discussing through their phones. If there is something unlikely or reverse to social practices going on, parents can step right in to convince them how wonderful life can be with the people we love and care about. They have to be engaged in works, family matters and other things to feel good about their life where they breathe air, not gigabytes. For employees as well, employers can use such phone monitoring software to have them busy and be competitive in a healthy way.

Real Life is to be Made the “Real” Life
Though the subtitle might seem a bit dramatized; but it is the utmost thing to be done, if the intention is to lead a life which is healthy, prosperous and most importantly, happy. We keep running after success, wealth and “coolness” and what not! It is high time we should get our eyes shifted from the LED screens and ears unplugged from the techno songs to see and listen to what the colours and cries of the real world are!

Survey Tells That Consumers Rank Online Privacy as a Top Priority

One of the recent surveys carried out by TRUSTe which is an online and mobile privacy solution provider, tells that consumers are much more aware than ever about internet or online security and mobile phone security, and is ranked as a foremost priority.

This online survey that has been compiled from responses of around 1,033 American adults and 554 smartrphone owners or smartphone users, tells that 94% percent of consumers think that privacy holds a lot of importance in their lives. In addition to that, 58% percent of people dislike OBA which is  an Online Behavioral Advertising that gives advertisers the one-up because it uses computer, PC or cell phone monitoring software for keeping track of all person’s searches.

This survey also tells us that 42% percent of smartphone owners or smartphone users see privacy as the most important concern and 85% percent of people say that they don’t download an application which has security related issues or the one they don’t trust.

What else, 60% percent of people said that they are more concerned and worried about the online privacy than they have done 1 year ago. It illustrates that more businesses are required to make security and privacy a foremost priority while developing new software and new systems.

Also, 76% of people said that they don’t permit companies to share the personal info with any third party or person and 35% of people said that they stop doing business with a company which is having a website online with privacy concerns.

Chris Babel who is CEO of TRUSTe, said that huge data is exploding and causing monumental changes in such a way that the personal info could be used and accessed online through very powerful and pervasive cell phones or mobile phone devices, fast growth of OBA which is Online Behavioral Advertising and emerging cloud services. The 2012 findings (facts & figures) of TRUSTe tell that the managing consumer concerns by practices of good privacy should remain on forefront for stemming mistrust. With the help of increased understanding about the choices, this survey also tells that consumers response more positively to potential value of the new online technologies such as OBA that stands for Online Behavioral Advertising.
